A WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship match has been officially announced for the upcoming Evolution premium live event.
The all-women’s event is slated for July 13, set to emanate from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
There was some uncertainty surrounding the event’s Women’s Intercontinental Title match, with potential challengers Bayley and Lyra Valkyria wrestling to a double-pin draw on the June 30 Raw episode.
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has now confirmed that Becky Lynch will defend her gold at Evolution against both Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in a three-way match.
He announced this in his weekly Raw announcement video on Twitter, which you can watch below.
During this video, Pearce noted that Becky Lynch will appear on Raw to address this match on Monday night (July 7).
Six other matches have been confirmed for Evolution, with IYO SKY to defend the Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley, and Tiffany Stratton to put her WWE Women’s Title on the line against Hall of Famer Trish Stratus.
The NXT Women’s Championship will also be on the line at the event, with Jacy Jayne defending against Jordynne Grace.
A four-way match for Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez’ Women’s Tag Team Championship has also been announced, with Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss qualifying for this bout on the July 4 SmackDown episode.
A Battle Royal bout is also set to determine a women’s championship challenger for Clash In Paris, and Jade Cargill will battle Naomi in a No Holds Barred match.
