A former champion has addressed rumors surrounding plans for their WWE return, providing clarification on previous comments.
With Nikki Bella returning to the ring in January’s Royal Rumble match, there has been a lot of speculation about her next move in WWE.
It has been heavily speculated that she will be prominently featured at the as-of-yet-unannounced Evolution 2 Premium Live Event, with Nikki seemingly fuelling rumors by confirming that she had a big announcement coming which would get her fans excited for July.
While Evolution 2 is reportedly expected to be announced for July 5, Nikki Bella has stated that she was teasing a movie announcement, not a WWE return at Evolution.
Shooting down the rumor that she confirmed a new Evolution event was happening, the former Divas Champion noted the following on the Nikki & Brie Show.
“I did not confirm the Evolution pay-per-view. The thing I was saying that I was going to be part of in July, I just need to kill this because I see it everywhere.
“I’m in a movie. I can’t announce it yet but it’s a movie that I’m in in July. I didn’t want to say the movie part, but now I feel like I have to say it because everyone thinks I’m confirming Evolution.
“It’s a movie I’m in, which I’m excited for everyone to see because it’s a great character and it was a lot of fun to play. I can’t wait to talk about it.”
