A SmackDown star has said goodbye for now to WWE, sharing a farewell address following a big loss in their most recent match.
The April 25 SmackDown episode saw Chelsea Green face Zelina Vega with the WWE Women’s US Championship on the line.
Vega was ultimately victorious, pinning Green to win her first singles title in WWE, and marking the first time this championship has changed hands since its introduction.
While Green previously addressed her championship loss, the SmackDown star’s latest comments have fuelled speculation about what’s next for her.
Green took to Twitter to share a photo of the US Capitol building in Washington DC with a US flag flying at half-mast.
Sharing a farewell address, Green wrote:
“Goodbye for now WWE
“This is my farewell address.”
Chelsea Green was the inaugural WWE Women’s US Champion, winning the gold at the December 14, 2024 Saturday Night’s Main Event show.
Her title reign ended after 131 days, following defences over the likes of Michin and Sol Ruca.
Despite holding one of WWE’s newest championships, Green was not in action on either night of WrestleMania 41.
The now-former champion has shared her honest thoughts on being left off the WrestleMania 41 card, which you can read more about right here.
