WWE Files To Trademark Match Type Name

WWE Files To Trademark Match Type Name

WWE has filed a new trademark with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for the name of a specific match type.

As per USPTO records, WWE filed for ‘Gauntlet Eliminator’ on March 24.

This comes ahead of a ‘Gauntlet Eliminator’ match on the first night of NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver to determine who will challenge Johnny Gargano for the North American Title on night two.

The ‘Gauntlet Eliminator’ will be made up of the six last men in a 12-man Battle Royal on next week’s NXT.

The first six eliminated from the battle royal are out completely, and then the order of elimination from that point onwards will determine the order of entry in the ‘Gauntlet Eliminator’ for the remaining six.

The 12 competitors in the initial battle royal, six of which will be in the ‘Gauntlet Eliminator’, are Bronson Reed, Austin Theory, Dexter Lumis, Isaiah Scott, Jake Atlas, Cameron Grimes, Kushida, LA Knight, Leon Ruff, Pete Dunne, Roderick Strong and Tyler Rust.

The following description accompanied the trademark filing:
