WWE Files Trademark For Faction Name WWE

WWE has filed a new trademark application for the name of a faction that current holds championship gold in NXT.

In early 2025, a new group debuted on NXT TV that was dubbed a collection of four “rogue Performance Center athletes,” three of whom were making their TV debuts.

The group soon became known as DarkState, made up of Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James and Saquon Shugars.

Lennox and Griffin are now two-time WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, recently winning the title back from the legendary Hardy Boyz at Halloween Havoc.

On November 4, WWE filed a new trademark application for DarkState with the following description listed:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

On last night’s episode of WWE NXT, Saquon Shugars was beaten in singles action by Je’Von Evans.
