WWE Files To Trademark Former AEW Star’s Name WWE

Just days following a massive championship win at NXT Heatwave, WWE has filed to trademark the name of a former AEW star.

In the main event of WWE NXT Heatwave ‘All-Ego’ Ethan Page secured perhaps the biggest win of his career by pinning Je’Von Evans to win Trick Williams’ NXT Championship.

The win came just six weeks after Page arrived in the company, setting a new record for the shortest amount of time between an NXT debut and capturing the championship.

Following this, WWE have now taken the steps to own the rights to the former AEW star’s name –  according to a new USPTO filing.

WWE have filed to trademark the name ‘Ethan Page’ under the category of Entertainment Services.

Here is the filing’s description:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

This is not the first time WWE has done this with recently acquired AEW talent, having done so earlier this year following Shawn Spears’ own NXT return.

Prior to joining WWE, Page spent three years in AEW between 2021 and 2024, but failed to capture any championships during his time in the company.
