WWE Files Trademark For Intriguing New Match Type

WWE has filed a trademark application for an intriguing new type of match. Find out what it is and when we expect to see it!

After announcing a bout for an upcoming special event, WWE has now filed a trademark an official name for the match.

WWE has filed a trademark for the term, “Jailhouse Street Fight” in relation to the upcoming match of the same time at NXT Roadblock.

The Jailhouse Street Fight will feature the grudge match between  Tony D’Angelo and Dijak at NXT Roadblock.

NXT Roadblock is a special edition of NXT featuring another big match already announced for the NXT Women’s Championship.

The show will feature Roxanne Perez putting her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against wrestling legend Meiko Satomura at the event as well.

The trademark filing includes the following description of the use of the term to the USPTO:

“Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information.”
