According to the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO), WWE has filed for a new trademark.
On March 3, WWE filed an application to trademark the old ‘Scratch’ logo. The following description accompanied the filing:
“The mark consists of two stacked “W” letters with a scar underneath.”
WWE began using this version of the scratch logo in 2002 after re-branding in 2002, following the company’s court case with the World Wildlife Foundation. The logo was changed to the current emblem in 2014.
It is currently unknown how WWE plans to utilize this trademark.
