A WWE legend has revealed how they prepared for their final match at TNA Wrestling Bound for Glory earlier this year.

D’Von Dudley only competed once in 2025, with that match marking the end of his in-ring career.

2024 saw Dudley only compete twice, with the previous year seeing his only match at Impact Wrestling 1000 in September and seeing Team 3D defeat The Desi Hit Squad (Champagne Singh & Rojit Raju), after a more than six-year absence.

During a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, D’Von addressed how that match in particular would see him interested in what would be his final time in the ring, saying:

“The 1000th episode of TNA, I was happy but I wasn’t happy. It wasn’t a proper send-off. So when Bubba came back to me and told me ‘I have an idea to do the Hardys and the Dudleys one last time,’ I jumped on it.

“At that particular point in time, my body felt good, for the 1000th episode, I had just started DDP Yoga, the yoga was really working good. It got me to be able to move a certain way back then, but not where I wanted to be because I had just started. Three years added to that, and I had been doing DDP Yoga religiously, it started really coming about.

“Me basically training six months prior to the event with my regular trainer with the weights, ice cold plunges… And then I took boxing training, just to help with my footwork, not to be a boxer, but the training in boxing is incredible.

“It really got me to the point where I didn’t get tired, I didn’t blow up in the ring. To do that for six months, that felt good.”

D’Von Dudley would also reveal that The Hardys were unaware that an emotional moment after their match would play out in the way that it did.

The Hardys would win the match, bringing an end to the long-running feud and retaining the TNA World Tag Team Championship and WWE NXT Tag Team titles.
