Former WWE Superstar Hornswoggle (now Swoggle) has revealed that WWE brought him to the Performance Center for the Backlash pay-per-view last year.
Hornswoggle claimed to Comic Book that he was brought to film a skit for the infamous Viking Raiders vs. Street Profits cinematic match at the pay-per-view, but explained that the planned spot didn’t actually get filmed:
“‘No one knows this because it never aired, but I was flown to the Performance Center to film a segment on Backlash during the Street Profit and Viking Raiders match that just never made it to air.
“It’s just we just never got to film it because we ran out of time and the weather was not in our favor. It just started sideways raining out, so we didn’t get to shoot any of that segment.’
The cinematic match is rather memorable for a number of reasons, including the fact that it was the first time fans saw the ninja gimmick of former Cruiserweight Champion Akira Tozawa.
