Plans for a potential ‘forbidden door’ entrant for the January 28, 2023 Royal Rumble event have potentially been revealed.
The upcoming Royal Rumble premium live event has been highly anticipating, with the show being the first Royal Rumble card booked under the Triple H regime.
With Triple H leading creative heading into the event (probably), there has been a lot of speculation about the shocks and surprises that The Game could have in store for WWE fans come January.
Per Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been rumors within WWE that former NXT Women’s Champion KAIRI will compete in the women’s Rumble match.
Pointing out that these rumors were swirling ahead of her recent NJPW title win, Meltzer wrote:
“An interesting part of that story is that it had been rumored KAIRI would be in this year’s Royal Rumble, but those rumors were prior to the decision changing with her getting the IWGP women’s title, which could change the dynamic. “
KAIRI won the IWGP Women’s Championship at the NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over event in November.
She is set to defend her gold against Tam Nakano at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
With Sasha Banks reportedly set to be at the January 4 event, it has been heavily speculated that the two former WWE titleholders will come face to face in the Tokyo Dome.
Interestingly, WWE star Karl Anderson will be in action at Wrestle Kingdom 17, defending his NJPW NEVER Openweight Championship against Tama Tonga.
