WWE Forced To Make Big Superstar Spectacle Change

The Superstar Spectacle took place yesterday. The show, which streamed live in India and internationally on the WWE Network, featured a host of main roster talent, as well as some of the Indian wrestlers under WWE contract.

One of the matches on the show saw WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair team up with Sareena Sandhu to take on the team of Natalya and former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.

This wasn’t the original plan for the show, as PWInsider is reporting that WWE was intending on having Charlotte Flair team with Kavita Devi yesterday, but Devi had to return to India to deal with a family issue.

WWE announced that Kevita Devi had a family issue and subsequently wouldn’t be on Superstar Spectacle after airing a video package for her during the broadcast. However, it wasn’t known that she was set for a match:

During the WWE Superstar Spectacle, the company aired a video feature on Kavita Devi and then mentioned she was back in India dealing with a family issue. That was legitimate. The original plan was for Devi to team with Charlotte Flair on the special. Instead, Sareena Sandhu was placed into the tag match.

Fans might recognise Kavita Devi from his appearance in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, where she lost in the first round to NXT star Dakota Kai. Devi was also part of the first-ever Women’s Battle Royale at WrestleMania 34.
