Former WWE stars and SAnitY stablemates Axel Tischer and Big Damo faced off in an impromptu championship match.
Tischer and Damo – known as Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain in WWE – made an appearance at Progress Wrestling’s Unboxing 7 event on Sunday (December 29).
With surprises expected at Unboxing events, Big Damo shocked the crowd by suggesting that he could challenge for Tischer’s PROGRESS Atlas Championship, following Sunshine Machine turning down Damo and Tischer’s tag-team match challenge.
This Atlas Title match ultimately went ahead, with the 2017 WWE NXT Tag Team of the Year facing off in singles action.
You can view a clip from this match below.
Tischer was ultimately victorious, pinning Damo to retain the Atlas Championship, which he has held since May 27.
Damo and Tischer were notably part of the SAnitY faction, which also featured Eric Young and Nikki Cross during its WWE iterations.
The team disbanded in April 2019 following the Superstar Shake Up, ahead of Tischer and Damo’s WWE departures in 2021.
The duo still team as SAnitY on the independent scene.
Tischer previously revealed the bizarre way he found out about the WWE SAnitY split in an exclusive interview with WrestleTalk.com, which you can read more about right here.
