Former WWE Star Cast In New Horror Comedy Movie WWE

A former WWE star has officially been cast in a new horror-comedy movie, which is set to enter production soon.

Deadline now reports that former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Daria Berenato – fka Sonya Deville – is set to star in comedy horror movie Zombois, written and directed by Garrett Abdo.

This movie will follow a group of college seniors who discover a guarded secret and a “contagion” while on break in the North Georgia Mountains, leading to a brutal battle for survival.

Abdo was listed as a producer for this project, alongside Glendon Palmer, Brian Yuran and Michael Buttiglieri.

Other members of the cast confirmed for Zombois include Tuc Watkins, Thomas Dekker, Brenna D’Amico, Adam Huss and Aaron Goldenberg.

Following her run on the 2015 edition of Tough Enough, Berenato officially signed with WWE in October 2015.

She wrestled for the company up until earlier this year, with it reported in February that WWE would not be renewing her contract.

The former “Sonya Deville” notably won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Chelsea Green in July 2023, but was replaced by Piper Niven the following month following Deville suffering a torn ACL injury.
