A former WWE star has revealed that he would be interested in appearing for NJPW in the future, discussing his goals.
Having parted ways with WWE following his contract expiring in November of last year, Baron Corbin has been wrestling on the independent scene since his in-ring return.
Competing as Bishop Dyer, the former WWE star has been closely associated with Major League Wrestling since April.
Speaking to The Velvet Ropes on WrestlingNewsCo, Dyer shared his hope that his time in MLW may lead to an appearance at a New Japan Pro-Wrestling show, saying:
“I would love to get to New Japan to do a show.
“That’s the coolest thing about MLW, and one of my favorite things about being part of this company is that they have connections with all of that.
“They’re sharing superstars. With CMLL, you’re getting all kinds of talent from there that are coming. They’re flying in people from Japan.
“That’s not a cheap thing to do, and it shows you how much that MLW wants to bring the best show to the fans possible by sacrificing sometimes dollars to bring in talent because, you know, Okamura, he’s flying in from Mexico. Kojima is flying in from Japan. They have several talent they have flying in.
“So, they’re spending thousands of dollars, if you will, to bring these amazing talents to the US for our fans to experience and give guys like me an opportunity to step into the ring against a Japanese legend and someone who has done so much over there.
“You know, when we were in New York doing the show for MLW, the President of New Japan was there. It’s so cool to be a part of that and have them see what I’m doing, cos, you know, they’re… they know who I am, but they’ve never watched me to go ‘oh, you would fit in for a show over here’ or ‘ he would fit this guy to run a program with.’
“MLW gives so many people that stage to get eyes on them from people that they may not necessarily have had the opportunity to perform in front of before.”

In addition to New Japan and CMLL, both of whom have partnerships with AEW, MLW also shares a relationship with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling and Revolution Pro Wrestling.
Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling will shortly see the return of AEW’s Yuka Sakazaki for two shows taking place next year.
The former Baron Corbin has previously show interest in being involved in the ‘Last Time Is Now‘ Tournament to determine John Cena’s final opponent.
