WWE
A new detail has potentially revealed that two WWE stars are set to be added to a popular video game.
WWE 2K26 might not be the only video game where fans will be able to play as popular stars, old and new.
The latest iteration of the long running video game franchise, WWE 2K26 was released earlier in March with the ratings revealed for all roster members, including Liv Morgan.
Fans of the Judgment Day member could potentially get an opportunity to interact with Liv Morgan in an entirely different video game.
With the new season of Fortnite recently launching, The Rock has been revealed as The Foundation for the Showdown season, having previously portrayed the character back in early 2022.
Not only is The Rock part of the Chapter 7, Season 2 of Fortnite, but it now appears Stone Cold Steve Austin and Liv Morgan could be making an appearance.
There is no official confirmation of this, but social media has been abuzz with the suggestion after it was revealed that the Fortnite item shop background for MCU Avengers features Austin and Morgan in the filename.
The filename for the otherwise standard looking background image is https://cdn2.unrealengine.com/sk-Stone-Cold-Steve-Austin-Liv-Morgan_SectionBG_Red-f06c00b2.png.
Currently, the MCU Avengers Bundle features Captain America and Iron Man, with associated emotes, pickaxes, back bling and Lego variants.
Fortnite Third Party Skins
Outside of its original characters, Fortnite has long embraced associations with third-party brands, including the likes of The Simpsons, South Park and WWE.
While collaboration between the hugely popular video game and both The Simpsons and South Park led to events based around the characters and settings, along with character skins and accessories, WWE’s involvement has typically seen stars appear as purchasable assets for players.
The Undertaker, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch have all previously made appearances in Fortnite, with players able to acquire the skins for their in-game character, with V-Bucks being the usual method outside of ranking up through the Season Pass path.
While these stars have not had a major impact on the story of any particular season of Fortnite, The Rock’s role as The Foundation saw him portray one of The Seven, a group in-game lore who set out to stop the Imagined Order from maintaining, as their name suggests, order.
While The Rock may be available as a skin for avatars, as well as his involvement in this season’s story, it remains to be seen whether Stone Cold Steve Austin or Liv Morgan will play a part beyond being purchasable assets for players.
The current season of Fortnite sees The Foundation go up against the might of The Ice King, with a new Rivalries mode available in Battle Royale.
