Update On WWE Star’s Future Following Almost Two Year Absence WWE

WWE star Carmella has shared an update on her in-ring future, following over 600 days away from the ring.

The former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion last wrestled at a house show on March 12, 2023, teaming with Bayley, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY & Piper Niven to face off against Asuka, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae & Nikki Cross.

She and Corey Graves announced that May that they were expecting their first child, who they welcomed into the world that November.

Over a year later, fans are still waiting for Carmella to return to the ring.

Speaking with Bayley during an Instagram livestream, Carmella noted that she’s still dealing with foot drop, a condition caused by damage to a nerve which she suffered during childbirth.

Hopeful for an in-ring return, Carmella said:

“I love being a mom, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done ever in my whole entire life but that being said, of course, I miss WWE. Of course, I miss everyone. I miss being Carmella. I miss performing. I miss it so much.

“For those who don’t know, I have some nerve damage in my foot from delivering Dimitri. I have what’s called drop foot, and it’s like this nerve behind your knee. I’ve been dealing with all of that.

“It sucks, but I wrestled for 10, 11, 12 years and I never had an injury, knock on wood, that was like this. Now, I’m just doing physical therapy, going to see the chiropractor, getting MRIs, and doing all of this stuff I never thought I would be doing.

“Here we are, and hopefully, eventually, nerves do take a lot of time to heal, but eventually, we’ll get back to it for sure.”

Carmella’s most recent televised match saw her lose to Bianca Belair on the March 6 Raw episode.

We wish Carmella all the best for her future and for her recovery.
