Gable Steveson has spoken about his recent talks with Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon, ahead of his WWE in-ring debut.
The Olympic gold medallist has yet to wrestle inside a WWE ring, despite getting drafted to Raw in October. Speaking with KTSP, Steveson revealed that he has had extended conversations with Brock Lesnar backstage, most recently in Atlanta at WWE Day 1.
A student of the game, Steveson noted:
“There’s been many times (like when) I went to WWE Day 1, and I went to many others. I literally just sit back and I’ll talk to Lesnar for 30 minutes and say, ‘hey, what’s this, this, and this?’ He’ll tell me, and I’ll say hi to Vince for a few minutes. I am really just trying to dissect, and so when my time comes it is a hit, and I know what I am doing straight away.”
The Olympic and NCAA Heavyweight Champion also gave an update on his WWE status, stating that he will most likely be at WrestleMania 38 in April.
Steveson is part of WWE’s inaugural class for the new ‘Next In Line’ NIL program, which allows WWE to form collaborative partnerships with college athletes. You can check out the full class here.
