A former TNA Wrestling name who is also a former WWE Women’s Champion was backstage at a recent episode of NXT.
Gail Kim was fired from her TNA Wrestling position as producer and creative team member in March as part of a number of changes to staffing.
Dave Meltzer has now confirmed that Kim was backstage at the June 17 episode of WWE NXT, writing this in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Having quit WWE in 2011, Kim went on to return to TNA Wrestling in October of that year and would remain with the company until her firing.
She was seen at NXT Battleground in June 2024, and was present during the opening of the show representing TNA Wrestling.
During her time in TNA Wrestling, she was the inaugural Knockouts Champion, going on to seven championship reigns, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2016.
Kim is also a former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion alongside Madison Rayne who currently serves as a coach in AEW.
AEW’s Jim Ross has previously revealed that he would endorse Gail Kim signing should Tony Khan seek his advice.
