WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has commented on the possibility of Bill Goldberg joining AEW following speculation about his future.
Fightful Select recently reported that the Hall of Famer has officially been a free agent since the end of 2022, when his WWE contract expired.
With Tony Khan recently commenting on Goldberg’s status, rumors have been swirling about a potential AEW run for the ex-Universal Champion.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, NXT commentator Booker T encouraged Goldberg to pick up a check, if Tony Khan is waving one around.
Discussing the situation, Booker T said:
“If Goldberg’s contract (is expired) and he’s a free agent now, he can do whatever he wants.
“If Tony Khan wants to call him and offer him a big enough check for him to come in there and do something relatively small where he’s not gonna put himself in harm’s way, why not go pick it up? Why not? It’s just the name of the game,” said Booker.
He continued:
“That’s been the way the boys have approached a situation like that since day one. If we’ve got somebody out there like a Tony Khan that’s throwing money/checks around, put me on the list, let me go pick up one.
“That’s the way the business has always been.”
An AEW star has expressed interest in facing Goldberg in the WCW legend’s retirement match, which you can read more about right here.
