WWE’s Grayson Waller Reveals What Happened After Australian TV Incident WWE/Sunrise

WWE star Grayson Waller has addressed an incident with a TV crew member that took place on an Australian morning show.

Waller and LA Knight appeared on the Sunrise Australian breakfast show in January to promote February’s Elimination Chamber premium live event, which emanated from the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.

This appearance took a turn after the show’s floor manager taunted Grayson Waller, asking for him to throw a punch at him.

Waller squared up to the crew member, angrily stating:

“I don’t think you understand, if I come over there we’re going to have the police here because I’m not going to give you some fake punch, I’m going to punch you straight in the jaw.”

The clip of this moment – which you can watch around 3:50 into the video below this news story – went viral at the time, and Waller has now revealed what happened after the cameras stopped rolling.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Waller noted that he was having fun in the moment, but thought it was important to protect pro-wrestling.

Noting that the TV crew were ‘terrified’ after the segment ended, Waller explained:

“I hate when people disrespect what we do and treat it as a joke.

“Sometimes when you do these morning TV… they’re doing 16 interviews a day, they don’t know who anyone is, like I understand why it happened, but it was when the sound guy or whatever came up and was like ‘I’ll take a punch’ and did his little thing, it’s like, you don’t realise what we do.

“Part of it was me being like ‘I’m going to have some fun with this’, and it terrified them. When they turned off the cameras they were terrified, like ‘is everything okay?’ I was like ‘yeah, I’m good.’ I was having fun, they didn’t know that, but I think we need to protect what we do.”
