Grayson Waller Potential WWE Babyface Run Update

Grayson Waller Potential WWE Babyface Run Update WWE

An update has emerged on Grayson Waller potentially turning babyface, with Waller discussing potential plans for a character change.

Grayson Waller has recently allied himself with The New Day, having parted ways with his A-Town Down Under tag team partner, Austin Theory.

Very much on the heel side of proceedings, Waller has now opened up about the potential of a shift to being a face in WWE.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Waller used Dominik Mysterio as a benchmark for any potential change of character.

Indicating that a babyface run wouldn’t require a drastic character overhaul, Grayson Waller explained:

“I don’t think you have to change who you are to be a good guy; it’s all about the crowd reaction. I’m not going to change who I am, I’m not going to pander, like the classic indie good guy who doesn’t know what they’re doing.

“I think (Dominik Mysterio) is a great example. Dom is getting cheered when he goes places. People are excited to see him, they understand what he’s doing, they love that he’s lying, cheating and stealing, and they want to get behind him.

“I think it’s a beautiful thing when someone like Dom can just be who he is, and the crowd will react however they want. He might go somewhere else and they give him a different reaction, but he hasn’t changed.

“I’m never going to change, I’m me. I’m not going to change who I am and start pandering to the crowd because I want them to cheer, because I think that’s fake.

“I think you can see babyfaces who do that, and the crowd doesn’t get behind them the same.”

With Dominik Mysterio being cheered by fans in WWE and AAA, Konnan has recently discussed the apparent decision to hesitate on turning him face.

As was seen on last night’s episode of WWE Raw, the returning Rey Mysterio had choice words for his son.
