A current WWE champion has been cast in season two of Wild Cards, with the NXT star revealed as an upcoming guest star.
Per Variety, NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo will be one of several guest stars in season two of the CBC & The CW procedural.
The article also named Martin Sheen, Ally Sheedy, Marie Avgeropoulos and Katie Findlay as upcoming guest stars.
D’Angelo will play a character named Jaws, who was described as a ‘formidable and commanding criminal mastermind.’
Wild Cards follows a down-on-his luck cop and a con woman, who have no other option but to join forces. The logline notes (via Variety):
“The two use their seemingly opposing skills to solve crimes and begin to learn a little about what it means to trust someone along the way.”
The second season is set to premiere on CBC and CBC Gem on January 8, and on The CW on February 5.
D’Angelo currently holds the NXT North American Championship, which he won from Oba Femi on the October 8 NXT episode.
