GUNTHER’s Next Feud After WWE Bash In Berlin Revealed? WWE

WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER’s next feud has potentially been revealed, with a big clue emerging after SmackDown.

With GUNTHER set to defend his gold against Randy Orton at Bash In Berlin, there has been a lot of speculation about what’s next for the Ring General following the Germany premium live event.

One star who many fans have been waiting to see GUNTHER face off against on WWE main roster TV is Ilja Dragunov, who joined the Raw roster during this year’s WWE Draft.

This match seemed closer than ever following the duo facing off at the August 25 Rotterdam, Netherlands WWE house show, and WRKD Wrestling reporting that WWE had ‘taken notice of excitement‘ surrounding this bout.

In a new update, GUNTHER and Dragunov have faced off once again, following Friday’s (August 30) SmackDown episode. This has fuelled speculation that WWE is testing out fans’ reactions to this match before bringing it to TV.

After the cameras stopped rolling, the World Heavyweight Champion faced off against his biggest WWE rival in a hard hitting match.

GUNTHER was ultimately victorious, pinning Dragunov after almost 12 minutes of action.

You can watch the match below.

The duo first faced off in WWE singles action during the October 29, 2020 edition of NXT UK, with GUNTHER defeating Dragunov to retain his NXT UK Championship in a match which WWE officially named the eighth best match of that year, over numerous main roster matches.

The rematch took place at NXT TakeOver 36 on August 22, 2021, with Ilja Dragunov forcing GUNTHER to submit to end his 870 day reign as NXT UK Champion.
