Last night, WWE Halftime Heat returned during the midpoint of Super Bowl LIII. Celebrating 20 years since The Rock and Mankind clashed in an empty arena match, NXT‘s best went at it in an exciting six-man tag.
On one side stood Aleister Black, Ricochet & Worlds Collide Champion Velveteen Dream. On the other, NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano & Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole.
The groups fought a hard-hitting battle with everyone busting out their key maneuvers while Shawn Michaels and Vic Joseph put everyone over as the stars of the future on commentary.

After a fast-paced match, the face team landed multiple finishers one after another and Velveteen Dream, 24-hours removed from his Worlds Collide win (as it was broadcast), pinned Adam Cole to score the ‘W’.
This was really put over as a showcase for these six, earmarking them as the future of the company with every man hitting everything they could. Black, Ricochet & Dream also all pulled out a three-man pose next to each other to show off to the audience watching. One day, Aleister Black will sit cross-legged in the main event of WrestleMania and everyone will rejoice.
