WWE Hall Of Famer Added To Royal Rumble Match

WWE Hall Of Famer Added To Royal Rumble Match WWE

A WWE Hall of Famer has officially been added to the field for the upcoming 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match.

Coming off recent announcements, this year’s Rumble is set to feature a star-studded lineup with John Cena, Roman Reigns and CM Punk all among the confirmed participants.

Tonight’s January 17 episode of WWE SmackDown in San Diego kicked off with hometown hero and Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio in the ring.

Mysterio declared that he too will be entering the Rumble, hoping to win it for a second time in a repeat of his feat from 2006.

Just as Mysterio was about to discuss how he dedicated that 2006 win to Eddie Guerrero, he was interrupted by Kevin Owens.

Owens is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for Undisputed WWE Championship in a ladder match at Royal Rumble.

Owens said that he plans on beating Rhodes for the title, so he can fulfill a dream of having a one-on-one match against Mysterio at WrestleMania.

Mysterio said that he would be “more than glad” to challenge Owens if indeed Mysterio wins the Rumble match and Owens wins the title from Cody Rhodes.

Owens then retorted that he actually believes he’s the current champion since he’s carrying the winged eagle belt around, before Mysterio told him he’s acting entitled like Dominik and they got into a brawl.

Just as Mysterio had set up for a 619, Owens managed to get out of the ring.

Backstage shortly after, Nick Aldis announced that Mysterio and Owens will have a match against each other later tonight on SmackDown.

The Rumble event will take place on Saturday, February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
