When WCW Monday Nitro first premiered on TNT back on September 4, 1995, it kicked off right away with a very unique feel, airing live from the Mall of America.
While the Mall has expressed that they would be open to hosting an AEW Dynamite show, F1rst Wrestling beat them to the punch, airing their ‘Saturday Night Nitro’ event at the mall last night, the first wrestling event to take place in the mall for 27 years.
The show featured various AEW stars such as Ethan Page, Orange Cassidy, Colt Cabana and Dante Martin, with the latter set to headline the show against WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam.
Dante Martin’s match with RVD ended in a no contest, instead becoming a tag team match, which saw Martin and RVD team up to defeat Ari Daivari and Sonny Kiss of the Trustbusters.
Here are the full result from the show:
- Arik Cannon def. Darin Corbin
- Ethan Page def. Jah-C
