WWE Hall Of Famer Believes CM Punk Could Sign With AEW

After making his shocking wrestling return at the weekend, it was reported that CM Punk was Tony Khan’s ‘first pick’ for AEW, even before the likes of Chris Jericho or the Young Bucks. Tony Khan also publically commented on the possibility of the former WWE Champion signing for his promotion.

WWE Hall of Famer X-Pac has also shared his thoughts on CM Punk and said he can see Punk joining AEW in the near future:

Speaking on his X-PAC 1,2,360 podcast, Sean Waltman said that CM Punk will definitely have a proper return to wrestling at some point in the near future:

“I’m never coming back to wrestling.’ I mean he said that over and over again. History tells me that eventually he will return to wrestling… A lot of people in entertainment that mean it just as much as he does eventually come back…. Trust me he will be back; I promise you at some point CM Punk will be back involved in wrestling. And no one should go like ‘oh see we told you’ cause it’s his life. And at the time he means it, when he said ‘I am never coming back’ he means it. It’s just that history shows that everyone who meant it too comes back”

X-Pac even suggested that Punk could be signing for AEW in the very near future:

“I can honestly see him showing up in AEW. That could be like this huge surprise that they’re waiting to drop with the announcement of a TV deal.”

This comes after All Elite Wrestling’s producer Billy Gunn commented on Triple H taking shots at AEW in D-Generation X’s Hall of Fame speech, which Waltman was part of.
