WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has confirmed that he will return to the ring for All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Henry said that his last match will definitely happen in AEW. He also said fans will see him differently after appearing on AEW Rampage. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“Well, it’s definitely gonna happen in AEW. It’s not going to be anytime soon, I think. I want to be 100%. I am still nursing injuries from 4 years ago. The wrestling business is a tough business, it’s not meant for everybody. Being in my home state, it would be cool to be able to do that, but not at this current time.
“I will be on a new show called Rampage. We’re going to be on Fridays, I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials. I want to be one of the best commentators, I want to compete with Jim Ross, I want to compete with my Coco, I want to compete with Pat McAfee, and we’re going to have a good time doing it. I think fans are going to come away from it seeing Mark Henry a little differently.”
Mark Henry has not wrestled since appearing in the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.
Henry made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing 2021. It was announced that he would be joining the Rampage announce team and be a coach for the company.
