Mick Foley has given a reason why the Triple H regime in WWE will be better.
WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has never kept quiet about what he likes or dislikes about the television product of his former employer.
As of late, criticisms of WWE are few and far between under the leadership of Triple H who took over creative duties in July.
One of the heavily criticized traits of the previous regime was having stars lose or be embarrassed in front of their hometown fans.
On the latest “Foley Is Pod”, Mick Foley discussed Shawn Michaels defeating Davey Boy Smith at WWE One Night Only 1997 and brought up his belief that the Triple H regime will be better for simply sending the crowd home happy.
He said:
“Send them home happy. That’s one of the — the Triple H regime is probably not going to go out of its way to beat people in their hometown as a matter of a statement.”
When asked if Drew McIntyre would agree with this statement after losing at Clash At The Castle, Foley said he believed it was a different situation.
He stated:
“I think you have to keep it on Roman for the payoff. If they don’t get to Rock/Roman, you can look back and go, ‘God, would it have hurt to put that title on Drew?’
“Going back to, Why beat Sasha in Boston? Why beat Charlotte in Charlotte? Why have Jim Ross kiss your ass in Oklahoma? Why beat Rey Mysterio in San Diego? Roman is super over. It doesn’t hurt Drew [to lose to Roman Reigns]. You’d be trading in the momentary high for long-term planning, in my opinion.”
Despite McIntyre’s loss, Triple H has had various stars highlighted in their hometowns, including Edge main eventing Raw in Toronto last month.
