WWE Hall Of Famer Allegedly Lied About Serving In The Military

WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter has always claimed to have served in the United States military. WWE.com even posted articles detailing his and other stars’ service.

Now, it has come to light that Slaughter never served to begin with. SoCal Uncensored (the website not the tag team) did some digging and was able to shed some light to the truth.

As reported above, the newspaper clip came from the Baltimore Sun in 1985. The clip reports that despite claiming to serve from 1966 to 1973, Slaughter never spent time in the military. It goes on to say that an officer felt that Slaughter’s words were discrediting what those who do serve in the military have gone through.

Slaughter of course was very famous for his drill instructor gimmick in WWE and the old wrestling territories. His gimmick got him very popular as a babyface and later very hated as a heel. As a heel he won the WWF Championship at Royal Rumble 1991.
