WWE Hall of Famer Pedro Morales has passed away at the age of 76. Morales battled health issues for many years, including Parkinson’s disease.
The news was broken by former WWE Spanish commentator Hugo Savinovich in a video posted to Lucha Libre Online’s Facebook page.
Morales was a former WWE Champion, holding the title a staggering 1,027 days. Morales also held the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice and the WWE World Tag Team Championships once, making him the WWE’s first Triple Crown winner. Pedro Morales also had a successful career working in Championship Wrestling from Florida. He held numerous championships in the territory during the late 70s. He retired from the ring in 1987.
Morales was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1995, making him one of the first inductees. Morales was later inducted into the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame in 2017.
