WWE Hall Of Famer Plans To Come Out Of Retirement

A WWE Hall of Famer has revealed that they intend to come out of retirement and wrestle in WWE in 2022.

D-Von Dudley has spent the beginning of 2021 recovering from various medical issues. Recently revealing he had recently suffered a stroke,  D-Von has noted that he’s fortunately almost back to his normal self.

D-Von has some big plans for his future, recently revealing he plans to step back inside a WWE ring next year. Speaking on his Table Talk podcast, D-Von expressed his intention to come out of retirement.

Recognising that life is rarely straightforward, he was reluctant to choose a date for his return, but he did state that he’d love to be involved in next year’s Royal Rumble match.

 “Listen, I’m not putting it out there, I’m not saying I’m going to be in the Royal Rumble… What I’m saying is I would love to be in the Royal Rumble next year. If everything still goes right with me, I would love to have the opportunity to do that. But, I have to be straight. My body has to be good and ready to go. I’ll be honest with you, I think I’ll be fine. I’ll declare myself in saying that I will try to get ready for the Royal Rumble and hopefully Mr. McMahon picks me to be in it. But if not then I can’t do it.”

Clarifying that he does plan to officially come out of retirement, D-Von noted that at one point, he didn’t think a return was possible:

“I do plan on coming out of retirement now. I’m willing to get back in the ring and do it again. I didn’t think I would, but I think I am. I think after going through what I went through and now back on the road to recovery, doing what I’m doing, like, I’m just trying to be strong, my trainers trying to get myself back to where I need to be, dropping all sorts of weight – I think I’ll be ready.”

D-Von’s last WWE match took place in 2016, where D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley took on Neville (PAC) and Sami Zayn.

He eventually became a WWE producer and was inducted into the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame. D-Von made a one-off appearance to stand in The Revival’s (FTR) corner during the 2019 Raw Reunion.
