At the Survivor Series pay-per-view event over the weekend, wrestling legend The Undertaker ended his storied thirty-year career with an emotional in-ring segment that main evented the show.
Because WWE shows are at the ThunderDome with no live fans, the retirement probably wasn’t as good as it would have otherwise been, but it has emerged that a WWE Hall of Famer really wasn’t a fan.
The Godfather, who is also a close friend of ‘Taker, posted a photo of himself and “The Deadman” and many other legends on Instagram. In response, fans shared some of their issues with the segment, which Godfather seemingly agreed with.
One fan took issue with the way the legends were treated at Survivor Series, noting “the whole farewell was pretty boring. You guys all came to the ring… for what?”. Godfather has since agreed, saying “right”.
When another fan questioned why WWE decided to bring all of the legends back, only do have them do nothing, Godfather explained that he thinks the segment “could’ve been written better”, which is hard to disagree with.
When another fan then took shots at WWE Creative and The ThunderDome, Godfather responded with “Well said. And you right, the night before was epic”., implying that ‘Taker’s off-screen retirement celebration was better than his on-screen one.
However, Godfather did concede that it was “the most important” thing to see all the WWE legends and friends of The Undertaker gather together in some capacity to celebrate his illustrious career.
