Major Sports League To Move Studio Shows To WWE Headquarters WWE

Major League Soccer is set to move its studio shows to ‘The Studios at WWE’ facility inside WWE Headquarters at Stamford, Connecticut.

The arrangement is part of an “expanded production deal with IMG”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The report notes that TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE, has a deal in place to acquire IMG that is set to close in the coming months.

Major League Soccer (MLS) – the league representing the highest level of soccer in the US – will produce its Season Pass on Apple TV+ and other studio-based content at The Studios at WWE HQ, with plans to add new content to its slate.

Of the arrangement, Seth Bacon, Executive VP of Media for MLS, reflected on the growth of Season Pass on Apple TV+ and the ability to take it to the “next level” thanks to The Studios at WWE, saying:

“The debut of MLS Season Pass on Apple TV has been remarkable for fans around the world to be able to consume all MLS games and content.

“With the incredible momentum and excitement around the league, we are thrilled to further our partnership with IMG to support our vision of elevating production, creating new viewing opportunities, and pushing the sports broadcast landscape into the future.”

Barney Francis, Executive VP of studios for IMG, would be equally effusive, noting that MLS had “set a new standard” for viewers and describing the “cutting-edge technology and creativity” that The Studios at WWE offers, stating:

“Together with MLS and Apple and their other partners, we have set a new standard for the MLS viewing experience, creating a new era of entertaining, highly engaging content for football fans globally.

“Over the coming years, we will take this to the next level with cutting-edge technology and creativity, powered by our incredible new home, Studios at WWE, and IMG’s industry-leading production experience and capabilities.”

The Studios at WWE is described as a “state of the art production facility in Stamford, CT. Our studios, control rooms, live connectivity, editing, audio post, and more provide the perfect environment for creating exceptional films and TV shows” on the official facility website.
