Following the January 13 episode, a new report has provided an update on the WWE “heat” on Penta after his WWE Raw debut.
On the January 13 edition of Monday Night Raw, Penta made his debut for the company in a victory over Chad Gable.
After Raw went off the air, a report circulated that indicated those in the WWE locker room were “upset” at Penta for going over his allotted time for the match and post match promo.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that WWE higher ups who spoke to them indicated they hadn’t specifically heard of heat on Penta.
If there was any heat, it should have been on whoever decided that the WWE Raw telecast needed a hard out on the show.
Although WWE has flexible times for Monday Night Raw on Netflix, the company were trying to get off the air in about two and a half hours for the January 13 episode.
The report notes that claims internally were that there were some talent the company wanted to make sure made it to their late flights out of San Jose, California.
Among talent Fightful spoke to, the claim was that they did not hear of any heat on Penta and most everyone backstage was aware of how much the moment meant to him and his family.
Penta’s brother and AEW star Rey Fenix addressed his former tag team partner’s WWE Raw debut, which you can read here.
It remains to be seen what is next for Penta following his WWE Raw debut at the time of this writing.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Penta’s WWE debut when they become available.
