Last night, Chelsea Green made her NXT TV debut by attacking Mia Yim and Kayden Carter after their match on the show. After the beatdown, Green aligned herself with fellow former Impact Wrestling star Robert Stone.
This came after Green actually made her Raw debut last month, losing to Charlotte Flair. Following on from this, Green defeated Sarah Logan on Main Event.
The week prior, Green’s tag partner from the NXT house show circuit, Deonna Purrazzo, also made her Raw debut. As a result, many people were confused about the future of Purrazzo and Green on the main roster.
However, following on from her appearance on NXT TV last night, Dave Meltzer noted on the Wrestling Observer Radio that this likely means WWE decided against promoting either woman to the main roster:
“The thing with Chelsea Green is that I was told that — because you know when Chelsea Green and Deonna Purrazzo did those matches on RAW the idea was to look at them and they may get brought up. The key was that they might get brought up because they’re not on NXT television. Once they get put on NXT television they’re off limits for a long time. Then it’s gonna be one of those things where they have to work everything out.”
“So, as soon as Chelsea Green showed up on this show it’s like it’s like she got no chance to go to RAW where they could probably use her and she’d be protected, but she staying in NXT and going to be managed by Robert Stone.”
With Shayna Baszler seemingly on her way up to Raw to feud with Becky Lynch leading into WrestleMania 36, NXT could probably do with a heel like Chelsea Green to feud with the babyfaces.
