# WWE Hall Of Famer Says Current Generation Is ‘More Athletic’

A WWE Hall of Famer has compared the current generation of wrestling to the golden era, noting that today’s generation are ‘more athletic’.

Over the years, there has been a big change in the wrestling world, with the Golden Era of the 1980s slowly morphing into the New Generation Era, then to the Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression Era and beyond.

Many former stars of the Golden Era have given their thoughts on the change, and WWE Hall of Famer ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan has given his comparison.

[Speaking to WrestleTalk’s Connel Rumsey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx5Ag3ZVRG4) ([via ToonieBet](https://tooniebet.ca/ca/)), Duggan reminisced on the differences, noting that he believes his era was more ‘creative’, compared to the modern era who are more ‘better athletes’.

He said:

*“Oh yeah, the kids nowadays, I think our generation was more creative, this generation is better athletes and more businesslike, but our generation we came up with our own stuff.*

*“I saw that transition of wrestling, I was working for WWF at high school gyms and national guard armories, and then I signed with WWE and we’re doing the Pontiac Silverdome and Wembley Stadium. I saw the transition of wrestling go from a small business to the worldwide monster it is now.”*
