A WWE Hall of Famer has reportedly been pitched for a return match in the company set to take place next week.
Next week’s episode of NXT is set to take place at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the old ECW arena, and a number of ECW alumni is set for the show.
WWE already announced that Dawn Marie would be on the show, serving as the Special Referee for Jaida Parker and Lola Vice’s clash on the show, as well as Bubba Ray Dudley also appearing at NXT Halloween Havoc ahead of a potential appearance on the show.
However, another ECW alumnus may be set for the show, as Fightful Select (subscription required), has learned that there was a pitch for a tag team match on the show that would involve WWE Hall of Famer Lita, who appeared in ECW as Miss Congeniality.
The pitch was for an eight or ten woman tag team match that would happen on the show.
Lita last competed at WrestleMania 39 last year, where she, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus teamed to defeat Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL.
Lita was written off WWE television later in the month following a backstage attack, with Lita and Becky reigning as the Women’s Tag Team Champions at the time, before Trish subbed in for Lita, losing the titles with Becky to Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan.
Lita was at the 2300 Arena last week, but Fightful was told that was for unrelated reasons, with the match being pitched throughout the week.
