A WWE Hall of Famer has pitched for Joe Hendry to be John Cena’s final opponent next month at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Next week on Raw, the Last Time Is Now Tournament is set to get under way, with 16 men taking part in a tournament to earn the right to be John Cena’s final wrestling opponent.
The tournament will begin with Rusev vs. Damian Priest and Sheamus vs. Shinsuke Nakamura on Raw, with Jey Uso vs. The Miz and LA Knight vs. a mystery competitor set for next week’s SmackDown.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry discussed the tournament, and pitched for Joe Hendry to be the one to win and face Cena in his final match.
He said:
“It’s gonna have to be somebody new, and I think that Joe Hendry is kind of the newest, hottest, and he asked for John Cena. At WrestleMania he wanted it.
“How do you prove yourself? Beat somebody. Beat another person in a tournament to get there.”
