WWE Plans For Upcoming Pre-Taped SmackDown, NXT & More WWE

With the holidays fast approaching, wrestling fans may be wondering will WWE will sit in their schedules while they enjoy the festivities.

As per PWInsider, WWE’s plans have been revealed for the holiday season.

WWE Smackdown will continue to be live on Friday nights each week except for the December 23 edition. Instead, on December 16 in Chicago at the Allstate Arena, there will be the usual live broadcast of that night’s show, and then the December 23 edition will be pre-taped that same night.

As for NXT, it will be going live on Tuesday, December 8 and December 12 on the USA Network. On Wednesday, December 14, they will tape the December 20 and December 27 editions in advance at the WWE Performance Center. Live episodes will resume in 2023 on January 6.

At time of writing, PWInsider has not confirmed WWE’s plans for the December 26 edition of Raw. It has been noted that the Raw brand has a live event scheduled for that night in Columbus, Ohio at the Nationwide Arena, but that show is being advertised as a Holiday Live Event tour date rather than a live televised Raw broadcast.

Meanwhile, on the same night (December 26) the SmackDown brand will be in Madison Square Garden as part of the Holiday Live Event tour.

A possibility is that that Raw will tape the December 26 episode the week before in Des Moines, Iowa at the Wells Fargo Arena. Or, they may drop the standard Raw broadcast for that week.

WrestleTalk.com will keep you posted as more details emerge on WWE’s plans for Raw over the holiday season.
