WWE have struck a new deal with Foxtel to continue delivering live WWE programming in Australia, renewing their 18 year partnership.
The deal expands on the WWE content available to customers comprehensibly. Reliably, Raw & Smackdown shows (Tuesdays 10am to 1pm and Wednesdays 10am to 12 midday, respectively) remain in place. Access to WWE’s pay-per-view events is unchanged, remaining on Foxtel’s Main Event channel. However, customers can now also expect full repeats of Raw & SmackDown, and shorter, one-hour versions of the flagship shows.
Included with the telivised WWE content, subscribers will be able to access WWE content using Foxtel’s on demand service. On demand will also make the weekly highlight shows, Bottom Line and Afterburn, available in Australia.
Announced today, Foxtel’s Director of Networks and on demand, Stephen Baldwin said:
“We are delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with one of the biggest brands in entertainment, and increase our WWE offering across both our linear channels and on demand.”
WWE Co-President, Michelle Wilson commented:
“Foxtel is a long time, valued partner that shares our vision and passion for engaging and entertaining our fans.”
Unfortunately with this huge increase in available content, at no point was 205 Live or NXT mentioned.
