WWE Star Discusses In-Ring Style & Creative Approach WWE

Ahead of last Sunday’s NXT Heatwave, WWE NXT star Je’Von Evans has discussed his in-ring style and creative approach to wrestling.

At the NXT Heatwave premium live event, Ethan Page defeated Je’Von Evans, Shawn Spears and Trick Williams to win the NXT Championship. This bout marked the first PLE main event for the 20 year old Evans who debuted with the NXT brand in February.

In an interview with Under The Ring podcast ahead of NXT Heatwave, Je’Von Evans discussed his in-ring style and what he plans to achieve in pro wrestling. When asked about his quick rise in NXT, he replied:

“And doing what I know to do and that’s -– try to be the best out here. That’s all I can do, and yeah, I’mma keep on doing what I gotta do. Straight like that,”

On trying to be different with his in-ring style, Evans said:

“I get in the ring. I sit down, I just like, you know, stare at the corner. Okay, what can I do out this corner?”

“Well, I just stare at the rope, I’m like, what can I do with this rope? And then alright, lemme try a move here real quick.”

On some of his ideas not always working out, but trying to remain different, Je’Von stated:

“I don’t want to be similar to anybody else because then that’s not gonna make me stand out.”

Je’Von Evans was attacked by Brooks Jensen on the July 9 edition of WWE NXT. He will now face Jensen in singles action on the July 16 episode.
