In a recent interview with talkSPORT, professional soccer player Abedayo Akinfenwa has revealed that he is in talks WWE about potentially doing some work with the company, revealing that it’s something he’s passionate about.
During the interview, the Englishman revealed that he’s had calls with WWE about doing some work with the promotion in the past. He noted that it’s something he’s going to be following up on shortly:
“I’ve had a couple of calls recently in regards to that. I’ll be following up on that soon – so it could go up or down depending on the outcome of that.
“I can’t tell you a direct percentage in terms of that [coming to fruition], but it’s something I’m really passionate about, so watch this space, people.”
For those that don’t know, Adebayo Akinfenwa is a 37-year-old striker currently playing in the English second division (Sky Bet Championship) for the newly-promoted Wycombe Wanderers FC. Akinfenwa is known for his impressive physique and strength.
At this time, there is no word on whether or not WWE wants Akinfenwa to do some guest work with them, or if they want him to quit soccer altogether and start training to become a professional wrestler. Make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest.
