Former WWE Name Pitches Released Star For TNA Wrestling WWE/TNA Wrestling

Former NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell was recently released by WWE and a TNA Wrestling star hopes she will head over there.

Her release happened on October 25, 2024, and saw her depart the company along with Tegan Nox and Baron Corbin, who was told his contract was not being renewed.

Speaking on The Commentary Booth, Steph De Lander, who was also a former WWE talent, discussed a “helpless feeling” and lack of control over her career, saying:

“I think you, as the talent, can work really hard, but sometimes if you are not in a position to succeed, you will not succeed.

“I was in that position with NXT. I think Indi has felt that way in certain scenarios when she’s not being featured on television or whatever else.

“Almost every wrestler can relate to a period in their career where they’ve felt like that. It can be a helpless feeling, not having any sort of control on that front. But on the other side when you look at it, so much can change in a short period of time if a company does believe in you, if a person does believe in you.”

De Lander would go on to discuss her currently feelings in TNA Wrestling, noting that Hartwell could fit in there, stating:

“I’m working at a place where I feel appreciated, I feel valued, I feel like my ideas are heard. I often times will have creative conversations with Tommy Dreamer on the phone and we’re spitballing ideas. That’s a relationship I’ve never had with any writers or bookers or anyone like that before.

“You can pitch, pitch, pitch, pitch, but if it’s always falling on deaf ears, it’s like how much can you spin that wheel? TNA is great for that, and if Indi wanted to do that, I’m sure there would be a place for her there.”

In line with many WWE contracts, Hartwell is set to become a free agent ninety days after her release.

WWE and TNA Wrestling continue to have a working relationship, with Trick Williams recently discussing the partnership.

Hartwell commented on her release, in a post on Twitter that read “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

The backstage reaction to Hartwell’s release was also revealed, with sources noting she was “coming into her own” following recent skits.
