WWE Tag Team Being ‘Positioned Strongly’ Ahead Of Big Upcoming Show WWE

A WWE tag team are being ‘positioned strongly’ ahead of the company’s return to India for the September 2023 premium live event.

It was recently reported that WWE is set to return to India later this year, with September 9 being suggested as the date for the major event.

In preparation for the return to India, WWE is planning to position a tag team strongly, evidence of which was recently seen on Raw.

On the June 5 episode of WWE Raw, Indus Sher (Veer & Sanga with Jinder Mahal) faced Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.

As can be seen from the footage beneath this news story, it was a very one-sided affair, with Indus Sher destroying their opponents and Alexander’s condition leading to the referee calling an end to the match.

PW Insider has provided an insight into the plan for Indus Sher, revealing that the segment went to plan and that the company wants Indus Sher “positioned strongly as they build towards their return to India with a September live event.”

The show that is likely to take place in Hyderabad, India happens around a month after WWE SummerSlam in August 2023.

Indus Sher were recently called up to the main roster during the WWE Draft, with Veer Mahaan issuing a warning to the WWE Raw locker room.

Jinder Mahal has recently spoken about the under-representation of South Asian culture in WWE.

WWE has deep ties with India, with it being previously reported that WWE and Sony Sports Network had combined forces to launch a media campaign to create “a deeper engagement with the youth.”

During the same interview, Mahal would also discuss the energy that he experienced in a recent visit to WWE NXT, which is where he, Sanga and Veer united.
