Ahead of the January 20 episode, a new report has revealed that injured WWE NXT star Javier Bernal is returning after six months out.
During the June 4 NXT Level Up taping, Javier Bernal suffered a foot injury that required surgery and led to more than six months on the sidelines.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that Bernal is listed to return to in-ring action for the first time.
Bernal is currently listed to compete in a dark match before the NXT Level Up and WWE NXT tapings.
It remains to be seen who will be Bernal’s opponent during the WWE NXT tapings at the time of this writing.
Already announced for tonight’s show, Oba Femi will defend the NXT Championship against Eddy Thorpe in Femi’s first defence as the champion.
Meanwhile, Tony D’Angelo will face Ridge Holland for the NXT North American Championship and Charlie Dempsey will challenge the NXT Heritage Cup against Lexis King.
