Origins Of WWE Star’s Injury Revealed WWE

An update has emerged on Asuka’s injury status, after confirming that she has stepped away from the ring to recover.

Asuka last wrestled at the May 4 Backlash pay-per-view, when she and Kairi Sane dropped the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.

The Empress has confirmed that she will be taking some time away from the ring to deal with a knee injury which had been “hurting for a while”.

Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Asuka is currently dealing with a knee injury which she suffered on the March 15 edition of SmackDown.

Meltzer wrote:

Asuka confirmed it is a knee injury that is keeping her out of action.

It’s the original knee injury in the Smackdown angle where she started limping, two months ago, that she took a little time off but then went right back to working on, and it worsened on the European tour and she felt she needed to stay to drop the tag titles at Backlash and then take time off.

The March 15 SmackDown episode saw Asuka, Sane and IYO SKY of Damage CTRL attack Bayley to force a disqualification in her match against Dakota Kai.

While Damage CTRL ended the show standing tall after beating Bayley and Naomi down, many fans were concerned for Asuka, who was visibly limping during the segment.
