WWE Interest In AEW Stars With Expiring Contracts Revealed

WWE Interest In AEW Stars With Expiring Contracts Revealed WWE/AEW

Details have emerged on WWE interest in two AEW stars, following reports that their contracts are set to expire soon.

As was previously reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the contracts of former AEW Tag Team Champions Isaiah Kassidy & Marq Quen (Zay & Quen) of Private Party are set to expire “very soon”.

In a new update, Fightful Select reports that they learned in early-June that WWE “at least had preliminary interest” in Quen and Kassidy, before reports emerged about their contracts expiring.

The report notes that Fightful hasn’t been told if the duo have been approached for new contracts with AEW, or by WWE.

Quen and Kassidy most recently wrestled for AEW on the January 22 Dynamite episode, losing the AEW Tag Team Championship to Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin.

Their most recent match took place for House of Glory on March 15, with the duo defeating Daron Richardson & Jodi Aura.

A number of ex-AEW names have debuted for WWE in recent years, with Mariah May most recently establishing herself as “Blake Monroe” on WWE TV.

The likes of Ricky Saints (fka Ricky Starks) and Ethan Page have also held championships on WWE’s developmental brand following their AEW exits.

It was recently reported that there has been some interest within WWE NXT for former AEW star and current TNA Wrestling name Mike Santana, which you can read more about right here.
