Report: WWE Interested In Two Free Agent Stars

WWE reportedly has interest in signing a former TNA Wrestling star, as well as a former NJPW champion.

2025 has been a busy year already for WWE when it comes to new talent acquisitions, with Penta debuting on Raw and Jordynne Grace and Ricky Saints on NXT.

With Rey Fenix and Aleister Black reportedly also set to join that list, a new report has revealed two more free agent names WWE currently has an eye on.

According to WrestleVotes on Sportskeeda Backstage Pass Q&A, WWE have interest in both former TNA star Alex Hammerstone and former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Kevin Knight.

WrestleVotes said:

“Interested in both. Don’t know if they’re coming. Don’t know if they’re coming together, but they’re two talents WWE is interested in. Yes.”

Speculation was roused last week regarding Hammerstone potentially joining AEW after former stablemate MJF seemingly teased forming his own group on AEW Dynamite.

Hammerstone departed TNA at the end of his contract earlier this month, with his final match being a loss to TNA World Champion Joe Hendry at the March 13 episode of TNA iMPACT (taped on February 21).

Whilst a part of TNA, Hammerstone competed in a pair of matches on WWE NXT last September – losing to Oba Femi and picking up a count out win over Tony D’Angelo.

Kevin Knight on the other hand has been a free agent since his NJPW contract expired in January and has since competed in a dark match on AEW Dynamite, as well as ROH and Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling.
